Workshops & Meetings

Welcome! to the aDDRess/CodeAge Workshop, Summer School and the aDDRess Mid Term Review Meeting, 9-13 June 2014, FORTH, Heraklion, Crete.

1st aDDRess/CodeAge  Joint Annual Meeting & 1st Training Workshop on DNA damage, chromatin and ageing.

The first aDDRess & CodeAge Joint Annual Meeting and the first Training Workshop on   DNA damage, chromatin and ageing was held at IFOM - the FIRC Institute for Molecular Oncology, on 21-22 Nov. 2013 in Milan, Italy.

The 1st Training Workshop  focused on Chronic DNA damage and Ageing in session 1 (chaired by CodeAge) and on Chromatin remodeling and DNA damage responses in session 2 (chaired by aDDRess).
The 1st Joint aDDRess & CodeAge Training Workshop was also held at IFOM - the FIRC Institute for Molecular Oncology, on 21 November, 2013 in Milan, Italy and followed the aDDRess-ITN Annual Network meeting in Milan. The 1st Training Workshop focused on Chronic DNA damage and Ageing in session 1 (chaired by CodeAge-ITN) and on “Chromatin remodeling and DNA damage responses” in session 2 (chaired by aDDRess-ITN). The meeting was locally organised by aDDRess partner Marco Foiani and CodeAge Partner Fabrizio d'Adda di Fagagna.  The workshop was organized and conducted in a very professional and pleasant manner. A broad variety of topics was presented.
At the Annual Meeting, oral presentations by the ESRs formed a separate, major session of the 1st joint Annual Meeting. The first Annual Meeting gathered together all thirteen ESRs and one ER and their supervisors to update on the progress made at each institution and exchange information. During this meeting, each ESR/ER presented their project, and some hours in the schedule were dedicated especially to outreach activities. This meeting exposed ESRs and ERs to a series of talks covering DDR mechanisms in the context of chromatin. Two speakers from SMEs covered technology platforms.
The Joint Annual Meeting & Workshop in Milan provided a very nice opportunity to get to know the other researchers (both Principal Investigators and fellows) and their projects in the aDDRess network. Meeting everyone in person not only initiated a talk for the upcoming secondments and more generally on how to participate to the training activities, but also to set the milestones for the next year. Generally, the meeting was an excellent opportunity to know each other; and be more familiar with the network.
